Hello:I am new to Infrastructure. I just received 6 DL380 G4 systems (end-of-life for corporations is not end-of-life for my small company). I need to create a diskless bootable USB drive to initialize the systems.
I'd like to start with Windows Server 2003 and work my way up to 2008 using my MSDN.I have researched this as best I can and I still can't figure out how to get it done.Anyone have step-by-step instructions for Infrastructure Dummies. Here is what I have done.1) I have used Diskpart to format a 16GB USB Drive using my laptop computer. Which is running Windows 7.2) I downloaded the Windows Server 2003 64-bit SP2 ISO to my laptop.3) I extracted the Windows Server 2003 64-bit SP2 ISO to a directorry on my laptop.4) I copied the extracted Windows Server 2003 64-bit SP2 ISO to the USB Drive.5) I placed the USB Drive in the Server and turned it on.It recognized the USB drive as C: but did not boot from it.I don't think the Extracted ISO is bootable. What can/should I do?Thanks in advance for your help.Scott.
